The doorbell and intercom system in a well-kept old building in Berlin are out of date. There are frequent malfunctions. Repairs are very costly and spare parts are often unavailable.

We advised the owners’ association and recommended a smartphone-based intercom system.

The smartphone-based system can be installed directly onto plaster and does not require cable connections to the individual apartments. The doorbell signs are digital, so they can be uniformly designed and kept up-to-date. The usage costs are approx. 1-2 EUR per month per apartment and can be apportioned via the operating costs.

The installation takes only one day and the total costs are about 1/3 of the costs of a conventional intercom system.

The owners of the property have opted for the recommended variant of the smartphone-based system and now use an innovative intercom system with video function directly via their smartphone. Access can also be gained via a numerical code.
